UBestie Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
This policy explains what information UBestie collects, why, who helps us process it, and how you can review or delete it. It describes the product as it actually works today. It sits alongside our Terms of Use & Content Guidelines.
1. What UBestie is
UBestie is a warm conversational companion. Alongside chat, it offers long-term Bestie Memory, My Day (reminders and simple scheduling), a Wellness area (journal, encouragements, mindful activities and colouring), Voice input and spoken replies, and AI image generation and image understanding. UBestie can also look up live information such as web results and weather when you ask.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we store your email address, an account identifier, and the display name you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic account details needed to identify you. We also record the version and date of the Terms you accepted.
Conversations
Messages you send, Bestie's replies, and the conversation history for your account are stored so you can come back to them. Each conversation also keeps short-term context (such as the current topic) to help replies stay coherent.
Bestie Memory
When Memory is enabled, a small number of durable details may be saved as long-term memories — for example a stated preference, a goal or routine, an important person, or an ongoing thread you asked to be kept. Not every conversation becomes Memory: passing remarks and everyday chatter are not stored as memories, and sensitive categories are excluded from automatic saving. You can review, edit and remove memories at any time in Account → Memory.
My Day
Reminders and schedule items you create — their title, timing and related notes — are stored so UBestie can show and remind you about them.
Wellness
We store journal entries you write, encouragements you save, a record of mindful activities you complete, and the colourings you make. Journal entries are private to your account and are not mined to create long-term Memory.
Voice
When you speak to Bestie, your device records a short audio clip and sends it to our AI provider to be turned into text. UBestie does not save the recording in your account — only the resulting transcript is added to your conversation, exactly like a typed message. The clip is handled by the AI provider under its own terms during processing; we do not control how long it retains request data. Spoken replies are generated from the text of Bestie's reply and are played back to you; the audio is kept only in your browser for the current session.
Images
Images you upload in chat are kept in private storage in a folder belonging to your account, and are only accessible to you through short-lived links. Uploaded images are checked automatically for safety before being used. Images UBestie generates for you are stored the same way and are linked to the conversation they belong to.
3. How we use information
- To provide UBestie's features and keep your conversation history available.
- To personalise Bestie's replies when Memory is enabled.
- To create, show and remind you about My Day items.
- To provide Voice input, spoken replies, image understanding and generation.
- To answer requests that need live information, such as web results or weather.
- To apply safety and content moderation.
- To keep the service secure, reliable and working correctly.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing profiling, or analytics tracking, and we do not sell personal data.
4. AI processing
Bestie is artificial intelligence, not a person. To generate replies, understand images, create images, transcribe speech and produce spoken audio, the relevant content you send is transmitted to AI service providers and processed there.
Those providers process the content to return a result to UBestie, under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not make claims about whether any provider uses request data for model training — that is governed by the provider's own published terms, which can change.
5. Service providers
UBestie currently relies on these external providers:
- Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, authentication and private file storage for your account, conversations, memories, My Day, Wellness data and images.
- Lovable AI Gateway — routes requests to the AI models used for chat replies, image understanding, image generation, speech-to-text and text-to-speech.
- Google — optional "Sign in with Google" authentication.
- Serper — web search results when you ask for live information. Your search query is sent; your account identity is not.
- Open-Meteo — weather and place lookup when you ask about weather. Only the place name or coordinates for the request are sent.
Each provider processes information only as needed for its service, subject to its own terms and privacy obligations.
6. How information is stored and protected
Your data is tied to your authenticated account. Access rules are enforced on the server so that each account can only read and change its own conversations, memories, My Day items, Wellness entries and files. Uploaded and generated images live in private storage that is not publicly browsable and is served through short-lived links. Keys and credentials for AI and other providers are held server-side and are never sent to your browser.
No online service can promise absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit who and what can reach it.
7. Long-term Memory controls
Memory lets Bestie remember durable things about you across conversations, so you don't have to repeat yourself. In Account → Memory you can:
- review everything currently remembered, grouped by category;
- edit or remove any individual memory;
- turn automatic memory saving off, so only things you explicitly ask to be remembered are stored;
- clear all memories at once.
You can also ask Bestie in chat to remember or forget something. Removing a memory deletes that record; it is not kept as a hidden copy. Journal content is never used to create memories automatically.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists, so the features that depend on it — history, Memory, My Day, Wellness — keep working. Memories that relate to time-bound things may expire or be marked resolved automatically.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. Deleting removes your conversations and messages, long-term memories, My Day reminders and schedule items, journal entries, saved encouragements, mindful activity history, colourings, your uploaded and generated images, your profile, and your sign-in account itself. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If a step fails, the process stops and your account stays active so you can try again.
9. Children's privacy
UBestie is intended for adults and for people old enough to form a binding agreement where they live, as stated in our Terms. It is not designed or directed at young children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Wellness and sensitive information
People often share personal things with a bestie. Anything you choose to tell UBestie in conversation, or write in the journal, is stored as described above. Please share only what you're comfortable storing. UBestie is a supportive companion, not medical, mental-health, legal or financial care, and it should not be used for emergencies — contact local emergency services or a qualified professional instead.
11. Your choices
You can:
- review, edit, remove or clear your long-term memories, and turn automatic memory off;
- choose what you share in conversations, the journal and uploads;
- permanently delete your account and its data;
- contact us with privacy questions or requests.
Depending on where you live, you may also have additional legal rights over your personal information, such as access or correction. These rights vary by location.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as UBestie changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and we'll highlight material changes in the app where appropriate.
